Learn Massage

Learning how to give relaxation massage is a way to help others, and yourself, feel more relaxed and at ease

So many people in our world feel stressed or anxious and carry patterns of tension in their body. Relaxation massage offers a way for both practitioner and client to rest in stillness, and to help the client let go of those deeply held tensions.

Relaxation massage approach

The massage I teach is person-centred, which means that you offer the most appropriate treatment for that client on the day. We don’t try to ‘fix’ anyone or give any guarantees as to how the session will go. All we can do is offer our presence and curiosity and create a space for the body to release what it is ready to release.

Giving without strain

Using posture and movement based on a Tai Chi stance, I will show you how to give massage in a way that doesn’t strain your body and feels enjoyable for you.

Learning massage is about so much more than techniques and knowledge, and also includes that

Whether you are learning massage to help family and friends, to connect with your partner or on the journey to becoming a professional massage therapist, you will learn anatomy and physiology and a range of massage techniques.

This gives you a solid knowledge base you can build your practise on.

Behind that well of knowledge is how you are as a massage therapist. My aim is to help you discover your own unique style in massage and create your own techniques and ways of working that make sense for you.

You’ll end up with a toolkit of techniques and knowledge you can rely on, giving you the confidence to work creatively and intuitively.

Learning massage can be life-changing - it was for me

It helped me to connect with the stillness inside and gave me an opportunity to move that stillness into action. It also made me aware of my posture and changed the way I carry my body.

This doesn’t only apply to working at the massage table. These qualities ripple out and change every part of your life.

And it gave me the chance to create a business doing something I love, where I can manage my own time and energy and add to the level of relaxation in the world.

Self-care

Learning massage is also great for self-care. You learn a range of home care exercises to show your clients that you can practise yourself. This includes stretches, self-massage techniques and relaxation exercises.

Caring for others also highlights how important it is to look after the body and you find yourself giving more priority to rest, relaxation, receiving treatments yourself (essential for any therapist) and body treats such as spa time.
